Conflict Dynamics and Negotiation Strategies
Introduction
Conflict is an inherent and inevitable part in any working relationship. In the context of NGOs, where collaborative efforts among colleagues and teams are crucial for delivering impactful social services, effective conflict management becomes essential for fostering collaboration and driving organizational success. When approached professionally and constructively, conflict can act as a powerful catalyst for strengthening relationships and enhancing communication among individuals.
In this workshop, participants will explore a variety of effective communication techniques and negotiation frameworks. They will also develop essential emotional intelligence competencies that are vital for navigating challenging situations. Through case studies and hands-on applications, participants will acquire practical conflict management and negotiation skills to strengthen stakeholder relationships and advance the mission of their NGOs.

- Principled negotiation techniques for finding mutually acceptable solutions
- Role-playing exercises for practicing negotiation skills
4. Effective Communication in Conflict Management
- Importance of clear and assertive communication in conflict resolution
- Techniques for active listening and non-defensive communication
- Managing emotions during conflict discussions
5. Strategies for Collaborative Problem-Solving
- Introducing collaborative problem-solving approaches

Dr. Joey Wan is the Management Training Consultant at ECOACH Consulting, the former Chief Drucker Educator at Peter F, Drucker Academy. He is the Adjunct Lecturer at HKU Space, who provides professional trainings and teachings to the senior executives of multi-national corporates, non-profit organizations, and government in the past 12 years. With the focus of his research area of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, Joey is passionate in sharing his unique insights on talent management in the entrepreneurial perspective. |
