Innovation and Execution Management - International Innovation Management Standard

Introduction

The world is changing fast and organizations are constantly driven to develop by forces such as globalization, Internet, better technology as well as tougher competition. Simply generating new and creative ideas are no longer sufficient unless they can be turned into innovative and successful results.

Systematic approaches such as the adoption of international standard on innovation like "Design Thinking” (DT) and the "Innovation Management System PD CEN/TS 16555-1:2013 will ensure that ideas can be generated and executed with a sense of control on the outcome of innovations. These two approaches have been extensively discussed over or even adopted in different cases in commercial field.

This workshop aims at providing concepts and knowledge to facilitate the process of innovation management so that organizations can renew themselves from time to time and cope with the ever changing social and business environment.

Objective

• To equip the participants with the essential tools to plan and implement for innovation management based on Innovation Management System PD CEN/TS 16555-1:2013
• To provide the foundation to facilitate the process of innovation management in the organization
• To build up confidence in carrying out innovation projects
• To apply knowledge and skills learned to the workplace

Dr Michael Kwong holds degree from the University of Nottingham (U.K.) and Newport University (U.S.). He has worked in various leading media corporations including Asia Television, The Express News (Deputy Sales Director) and the New Evening Post (General Manager, Advertising Dept.) with over fifteen years’ successful experience in the sales and marketing field.

Dr Kwong has been a business consultant and a part-time lecturer for a few institutions including HKMA, CUHK SCS, CityU SCOPE, PolyU (CBC, HKCC & SPEED), etc. He is especially strong to deliver training with topics in: win-win negotiation, supervisory skills, Leadership with Chinese Wisdom, EQ and AQ, customer service excellence, customer relationship management, professional selling skills, marketing strategy, creative thinking, team building and communication.

Dr Kwong is a training consultant specializing in the area of Chinese Wisdom Leadership Skills, Media Skills, Selling and Negotiation Skills. He was also the co-author of "Relationship Marketing: the business strategy for e-commerce" (2000) and a contributing author of "The 21st Century Business Strategy" (2001) and "Strategies in Performance Management" (2006).

Mr David Chung, a practitioner, author, and consultant in the Design Thinking and business transformation. He has more than 15 years of experience in consulting and training across different sectors, including the travel, aviation, retail, beauty, hospitality, and financial services sectors.
He managed five large scale Hong Kong- to regional-based customer experience transformation projects and over 200 events of business innovation for Fortune 500 companies and Top 100 HK listed companies in the last 5 years.
He was the Head of SGS Academy HK and Head of Enterprise Consulting at Dun & Bradstreet HK. He is the co-author of Demand Chain Management book and two ISPI papers.

DT is developed by Stanford d.school and an award-winning global design firm IDEO. It is a process for creative problem solving and generating ideas. DT is regarded as one of the most effective way to design new products, services, organization positions or branding.

Innovation Management System PD CEN/TS 16555-1:2013 is the first global standard of innovation management. It provides an integrated institutional system for innovation and includes a set of standards and requirements supporting the application of enterprise innovation.
