Funding Proposal: From Social Needs to Project Development & Implementation【Online Application Only】

Introduction

Drafting funding proposals to get financial support can help subvented and non-subvented agencies to accommodate various social needs. An up-to-standard proposal is not only about the writing skills but also the comprehensiveness of the contents ranging from need assessment, flexibility study, impact assessment design, to the relationship between the service idea and the mission and direction of the agency. This course is developed from the perspective of small and medium-sized NGOs or service units with real cases to facilitate participants to enhance their skills in leading their team members to draft convincing proposals efficiently.

Objective

  • How to be well prepared for proposal writing
  • Understand possible ways to facilitate colleagues to draft a good proposal
  • How to avoid drafting a proposal that exceeds the capacity of the unit or agency

Content

  • How to grasp social needs, and express social needs to funding agencies effectively and clearly
  • How to stimulate colleagues to conceive service ideas that match the purposes and development directions of the NGOs
  • How to evaluate the execution feasibility of the service concept
  • How to make a more accurate financial budget and implementation plan
  • How to incorporate an effective impact assessment design into the proposal

Chief Executive of a Non-subvented Agency
Mr. Keith Wong is now working as the Chief Executive of a non-subvented NGO. He is experienced in leading staff members to draft funding proposals for the operation and development of the services and the agency. In the past, Keith tried to promote practice research and social impact assessment in the sector. In recent years, he tried to combine the above topics and shared them with the practitioners.

Applicants have to use the online membership system of the HKCSS Institute for enrollment. The membership is on an individual basis, for the application of the courses and activities of the HKCSS Institute only.

Staff from HKCSS Agency Members will not automatically become members of the HKCSS Institute. The membership is not equivalent to the membership status of HKCSS Agency Member.
