1. Small NGO Talent Development Subsidy Programme
"Small NGO Talent Development Subsidy Programme" is now launched!
"NGO Capacity Development Fund", established by Hip Shing Hong (Holdings) Company Limited, is finished in 2018 Q3. It has subsidized over 100 small NGOs for training courses since September 2015. HKCSS sincerely thank Hip Shing Hong for sponsorship and support!
In this changing era, not only should the social services sector provide timely services in response to the changing social needs, it should also consider more on “talent developmnet” for the development and the sustainability of the social services sector. In order to continually support the talent development of small NGOs, "Small NGO Talent Development Subsidy Programme" (the Subsidy Programme) is officially launched to provide learning subsidy, covering 60% of the tuition fee, for directors or small NGOs staff of all levels. Short courses, and other paid activities (not more than 2 days) held by HKCSS Institute are covered under the Subsidy Programme, a maximum of 6 quota will be given to subsidy applicants (except for co-organising courses). It is now open for application!
Eligibility:
Applicants must be a paid staff or board member of:
- an Agency Member of HKCSS
- its annual recurrent expenditures is <HK$10M, and
- which is not eligible for the Social Welfare Development Fund.

2. Social Work Training Fund (Type III Activities) Partial Sponsorship
To facilitate the improvement of social work knowledge and management skills of social workers, organizations may apply for grants from the Social Work Training Fund (SWTF) to sponsor their social work employees for attending relevant courses organzied by HKCSS Institute.

3. The TUYF Charitable Trust
The purpose of the Scholarship and the Grant is to nurture future leaders and enhance governance of welfare NGOs. The Scholarship supports individuals who wish to pursue a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Non-Government Organization (“NGO”) governance or related areas, whereas the Grant supports individuals who wish to undertake a short course relating to NGO governance or related area overseas.
Scholarship for NGO governance [Application Form]
- For full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course overseas.
- There will be a maximum of 2 scholarships for the 2 batches of awards. The value of each award shall depend on the expenses involved in the countries in which the awardee will undertake his/her studies as overseas student. The award may include tuition fees, field placement expenses, accommodation, living expenses and travel costs.
- Individuals who have permanent resident status in Hong Kong and at least one year of work experience in NGOs in HK, OR fresh graduates who possess NGO work experience in HK prior to pursuing their degree are eligible to apply.
- Applicants with over 3 years of work experience in a management / leadership position in Hong Kong NGOs in lieu of the academic qualifications mentioned above will also be considered.
Grant for NGO governance [Application Form]
- For short course overseas. (Course Suggestions)
- There will be a maximum of 4 awards for each year. The value of each award shall depend on the expenses involved in the countries in which the awardees will undertake their studies. The award may include course fees, accommodation, living expenses and travel costs.
- Individuals who have permanent resident status in Hong Kong, with an undergraduate / postgraduate degree in social studies / relevant subjects and at least one year of work experience in NGOs in HK OR fresh graduates who have possessed NGO work experience in HK prior to pursuing their degree are eligible to apply.
- Applicants with over 3 years of work experience in a management / leadership position in Hong Kong NGOs in lieu of the academic qualifications mentioned above will also be considered.

4. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive Education Scholarship
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust proudly awards scholarships to local social sector executives who seek to enhance their leadership skills. In an effort to build capacity of local NGO and social enterprise leaders, the Trust provides scholarships to Executive Education programs at the Chicago Booth Hong Kong Campus.

7. Harvard Business School Scholarships - HBSAHK Ming Wai Lau Scholarship
Since 2001, the Harvard Business School Association of Hong Kong has been offering scholarships to Hong Kong’s NGO leaders to attend an executive education program “Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management” (SPNM) at the Harvard Business School every summer.
By training and empowering those who manage social and charitable organizations, and by making them more effective and efficient in the delivery of their services, it is intended that these scholarships have a multiple and leveraged impact on the well-being of the most needy in Hong Kong.
