Planning & Controlling in NGO Projects
Objective
This workshop aims to equip and empower project managers with project definition, planning, and monitoring tools. Through discussions, case studies, exercises and presentations, participants will gain insights and acquire skills to:
- Understand and identify how to use standard tools and techniques of project management in NGOs
- Understand the relationship between the Knowledge Areas in the PMBOK (PMI) in relation to NGO’s way of work
- Understand how to develop a project idea into a project management plan & project control
Content
- Basic concepts of project management
- Introduction to Project Management Framework including Five Project Management Process Groups and Ten Knowledge Areas of a Project
- Project Definition, Planning, and Control Framework with high level appreciations on Project Scope Management, Project Time Management, Project Resources Management and Project Stakeholder Management

Dr. MAU Kwok Bun , Paul 繆國斌博士
Seasoned Corporate Trainer
Paul is a seasoned corporate trainer, consultant, and a Family Therapist. He has provided psychotherapy services more than 12 years. Recently, he is an adjunct faculty and a clinical supervisor of the “Master of Art in Professional Counselling” degree under Olivet Nazarene University and HKICC. Paul is also a HKU part-time lecturer. He has conducted workshops and seminars including project management; psychological aspects of the management; interpersonal skills; workplace stress management; PM’s EQ Series; Psychological Management in Organization Change for OCGIO, and so on. Participants of these workshops came from ICT, consulting, banking & securities, construction, utilities, manufacturers, clinicians, university staffs & lecturers, NGOs, PMIHK, HKCSSI and so on.
