Objective

To focus on key issues and challenges relating to the relationship with a "boss”
To introduce powerful and flexible tools and techniques for effective relationship management
To enable participants to increase awareness of their personal style, and the effect on their relationship with their boss
To facilitate the development of strategies for improving participants’ personal approach and building on their natural style

Content

Positive working relationships - Identifying characteristics of good working relationships and understanding what ‘managing your boss’ is and isn’t about
Dealing with differences and difficulties - How to capitalise on commonalities; establish your relationship and respond positively to conflicts and difference in style
Supporting your boss - Using personal strengths to mutual advantage; sharing responsibility and outcomes
Assertiveness skills - Developing an honest and assertive communication style for positive effect
Responding to requests - Identifying familiar responses; balancing personal versus organisational interests; saying "no” without appearing unhelpful; accepting tasks without compromising other priorities
Accessing support - Being accountable for mistakes and admitting difficulties; helping your boss to help you; communicating your own progress
Personal development planning - Extending learning back into the workplace

He has also delivered topics such as Climate Change & Business Risks Management Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability Leadership to the Senior Management of multinationals and he lectured EMBA at the City University and Chinese University of Hong Kong and has refereed climate and renewable energy articles for several energy journals. Ms. Yeung , Betty 楊少珠女士 Training Programme Director World Green Organisation Ms Yeung is the Training Programme Director of World Green Organisation (WGO), a seasoned HR professional, with specific experiences in the talent acquisition, organization development and HR generalist functions. Prior to that, Betty has over 20 years of broad commercial experience and has held senior positions with Cathay Pacific Airways, Organisation Development Limited, Right Management Consultants, Global Top Fashion Group. She is also a certified career coach, certified personal coach with recognised accreditations, including Birkman, Facet5 and LEA360 assessment tools.
