Conflict Resolution Using Mediation

Introduction

Since the legislation of mediation in Hong Kong, there are increasing demands of corporate training in mediation skills. Actually mediation skills are very useful in daily life, work place, and relations, so that conflicts which are traditionally handled via civil proceedings can be settled via mediation peacefully and amicably.

Objective

• To introduce mediation skills, which are selected communication skill sets, and mediation process, which is a proven efficient and effective way to approach conflicting situations.
• To share mediator approach, attitude and qualities so that participants are able to adopt the mediator’s mindset whilst resolving conflicts.

• What is mediation, how is it related to modern life style?
• How does mediation help resolve conflicts which seem unavoidable in our daily life, workplace, and relations?
• What skills are useful in resolving conflicts, disputes, even complaints, and how?
• Which processes in mediation can be borrowed to manage conflicts, disputes, and even complaints around us?
• How can mediator’s approach, attitude and qualities bring along harmony and peace to the apparently turmoil society, workplace, and even life?

Ms Annita Mau is a versatile trainer in communication, mediation and creativity. Before her taking up of training and consultancy as a second career in 2006, she has been serving major public organizations, as a member in senior management team, specialising in corporate communication, government / community / media relations and crisis management for nearly three decades. Integrating her vast corporate experiences, knowledge from continuing life-long learning, and relentless passion and enthusiasm in empowering herself and others, Annita has developed a variety of training topics, including creativity in problem solving, resolving conflicting situations with mediation skills, and charismatic communication, which are well attended and received by senior management in government departments, public corporations, social welfare sector, and the commercial field. Annita is a well-recognized mediator and is the Appointed Mediator by Shenzhen Civil & Commercial Mediation Centre (since 2011) and Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperative Zone People’s Court (since 2016). Annita is also a National Senior Corporate Trainer (PRC) and Global Career Development Facilitator (US).
