Facebook Good Causes Day 2019

Introduction

Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. More than 2.8 billion people are already using Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or Messenger to stay connected with their friends and family, to discover what’s going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them the most.

To achieve this, Facebook works with different non-profit organizations (NPOs) and social enterprises around the world to help them stay connected with their local communities because we support many good causes, from online safety to gender equality, or helping more women to start their own businesses. We believe NPOs can play an important role to bring positive impact on social and economic development in any society.

In Hong Kong, we announced "Green Digital Program” this year for enabling and activating non-profit organizations who are addressing environmental issues, by leveraging the power of Facebook to help promote their good causes. A total of 15 green non-profit organizations has joined this program, and we will showcase some of the works that have been done with these green non-profit organizations at the Good Causes Day this year.
