Managing People Conflicts in NGO Workplace

Objective

Nothing can destroy productivity, derail projects, or affect your organisation reputation faster than workplace conflict. Managing groups within organisation/within project team, services targets and the general public who are affected by the conflicts, is significantly important. The workshop will adopt a blended approach of management theories and practical soft skills in NGO environment. Through discussions, case studies, role plays, and presentations, participants will gain insights and acquire skills to:
  1. recognize organisation stakeholders, sources of conflicts, nature of conflicts, and their escalation over time so they can address them more effectively (Anatomy of Conflicts)
  2. manage your emotions and influence others emotionally when in conflict with the understanding of your working style (Managing Emotions)
  3. recognize appropriate conflict resolution style based on your needs to get maximum results (Handling Conflicts)
  4. negotiate over what you want and move on to a win-win outcome (Negotiation)

    Seasoned Corporate Trainer
    Paul is a seasoned corporate trainer, consultant, and a Family Therapist. He has provided psychotherapy services more than 12 years. Recently, he is an adjunct faculty and a clinical supervisor of the “Master of Art in Professional Counselling” degree under Olivet Nazarene University and HKICC. Paul is also a HKU part-time lecturer. He has conducted workshops and seminars including project management; psychological aspects of the management; interpersonal skills; workplace stress management; PM’s EQ Series; Psychological Management in Organization Change for OCGIO, and so on. Participants of these workshops came from ICT, consulting, banking & securities, construction, utilities, manufacturers, clinicians, university staffs & lecturers, NGOs, PMIHK, HKCSSI and so on.
