Digitalize pre-discharge planning for older patients and their family members using an e-Learning Information Package (eLIP)

內容

This course will take participants along a journey of how the interactive eLIP was conceived, developed and trialed. To develop a comprehensive, accurate and updated eLIP website and booklet, the challenges encountered and strategies to overcome will be discussed. The experience of trialing the eLIP intervention in the study in hospital sites will be shared. Demonstration of the eLIP website and the content of the booklet will be made, participants can navigate the user-centred website and to provide feedback for improvement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Dr Low’s research interests resolve around gerontology, emphasizing on the organization of care and practices, decision-making in residential care homes, discharge planning for older patients and family members; and, recently, family decision-making of older people with mild-moderate dementia using mainly qualitative approaches. Her deep passion to integrate qualitative research into her work with older people include the use of action research (combined with ethnography) to constructivist grounded theory to promote the quality of life of older residents and staff in an aged care setting.
