IBM Leadership Workshops for NGOs in Hong Kong - Workshop 2: Leadership and Collaboration

簡介

HKCSS Institute is pleased to present two leadership training workshops to local NGOs through IBM Impact Grants.

With the increasing complexity of social problems and expectations from the community, NGO leaders have endeavored to provide the best quality of service with limited resources. In view of the pressing needs of cultivating organizational innovation within one’s agency and developing collaborations with counterparts within the sector, HKCSS Institute is proud of introducing IBM’s expertise to help build capacity of the local NGO sector.

目標

To strengthen the leadership skills of NGO management in grooming new leaders from within for organizational innovation and networking with other NGOs for win-win collaboration

內容

This workshop focuses on the most current and effective trends concerning leadership in today’s society by emphasizing the importance of collaborative skills within NGOs.

Content:
1. Aligning with your purpose
2. Attributes of a leader
3. Understanding the power of influence
4. Elements of motivation
5. Leadership and collaboration
6. Creating an engaging climate

 
Remarks:
  • The course is not offered on the basis of first come, first served.
  • Screening of applications by HKCSS Institute for eligibility for taking the workshop may apply.
  • With IBM’s sponsorship, the workshop is conducted at no charge to participants.
  • A refundable course deposit in the amount of HK$500 per workshop is required. Please make the cheque payable to "The Hong Kong Council of Social Service”. It should be sent together with the completed course application form.
  • If the application is submitted online, the refundable course deposit should be sent to HKCSS Institute in 7 days. Address: Room 906, 9/F Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.
  • Applications without refundable course deposit submitted will not be processed.
  • The refundable course deposit cheque will be returned to successful applicants upon completion of the workshop enrolled with 80% attendance.
  • If any participant fails to attend the workshop or cannot meet the 80% attendance requirement, the refundable course deposit will be cashed and converted to a donation made to The Hong Kong Council of Social Serivce.

    Ms. Hu , Susan 胡小賢女士

    Ms Hu has 30 years at IBM in senior professional, managerial and consulting roles. Currently, Susan drives the planning, pipeline identification, development, and placement of IBM’s succession planning for executives and critical leadership positions. She consults and provides thought leadership in areas of Leadership Talent Strategy, Develop and Assess Leaders - capabilities and careers, Internal and External Executive Staffing, and Manage and Execute IBM’s succession planning process.

    Susan previously held the position of Organization Leadership Consultant (OLC) with IBM’s Enterprise Leadership Consulting from 2006 to 2012. She worked closely with IBM senior executives and leadership teams in driving organization change initiatives and leadership transformation programs. Susan helped senior leadership teams build leadership and organization capabilities that create a high performance and instill a positive climate for growth.

    Susan holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Management Studies and a Master of Social Sciences in Counseling from the University of Hong Kong.
    Mr. Yan , Joseph

    Joseph Yan has been a long time IBMer stepping in his 23rd anniversary career milestone in IBM. Joseph started his IBM journey as an IT specialist supporting clients on AIX systems. Then, Joseph moved on to take up a no. of professional and managerial roles in the Services, Legal and HR functions in IBM. His current role is the GCG Management and Leadership Facilitator, Management & Leadership Development, HR Learning, specializing in management and leadership development. in the areas of Employee Engagement, Agile Leadership, Millennium Management, Coaching, Technical Leadership, Transformation Leadership Framework and Emerging Leadership Development across the Greater China Group (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan).

    Joseph works closely with IBM senior management and the leadership team for the development of existing leaders and emerging and future leaders to equip them with the right leadership skills to meet current and future business needs of the IBM transformation journey.

    Joseph holds a Master degree in Computer Science from the University of Salford, the U.K.
