Bridging Between Social Research and Campaign – Engaging Supporters in Participatory Research and Campaigning Action
Engaging in social research becomes increasingly vital for contemporary NGOs looking for initiating and promoting social policy changes. Best research practices allow more effective communication, bringing influences on the policy realms and different communities, and that involves both science and ‘art’ of research practices. To have more flexibility, volunteers such as students and experts of different fields can be involved in research as well as being supporters in campaigning.
Based on the situated knowledge of the trainer, this course offers an introductory guide for thinking through the dynamics between social research and campaigning, providing a certain understanding of problematics, strategies, tactics and actual context of social research in Hong Kong.
