Dr Ng’s key research area is the application of Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese philosophies in mental health work. Current research projects are operationalization of stagnation (a concept from TCM) as a mental health construct, illness coping strategies in irritable bowel syndrome (especially symptoms catastrophizing and social hypervigilance), and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Dr Tse teaches nurses in undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is the programme leader for Master of Science in Nursing. Her research interests include health promotion and interventional strategies to enhance quality of living and quality of life for older persons, healthy ageing, elderly safety, long-term care, pain management and E-learning and online learning.

Dr Chow is the Associate Program Leader for Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work. She has extensive research experiences on the effectiveness of various practice-intervention models. After obtaining a graduate diploma in Narrative therapy from Dulwich Centre, Australia, her research interests extended to practice of narrative therapy, self-help and mutual-aid, life wisdom, social support and coping, resilience and spirituality.

Dr Lai focuses her research program on various aspects of long-term care and, in particular, on the care of people suffering from dementia. She has won a number of awards for her work on dementia care. She is an honorary nursing advisor to many voluntary service agencies in Hong Kong.

Dr Low’s research interests resolve around gerontology, emphasizing on the organization of care and practices, decision-making in residential care homes, discharge planning for older patients and family members; and, recently, family decision-making of older people with mild-moderate dementia using mainly qualitative approaches. Her deep passion to integrate qualitative research into her work with older people include the use of action research (combined with ethnography) to constructivist grounded theory to promote the quality of life of older residents and staff in an aged care setting.

Dr Yu is the Deputy Programme Director of the CADENZA Training Programme. Her major research interest is to promote quality of life and healthy ageing in older people with particular focus on insomnia, oral health, nutrition, mental wellness and symptom management. She also investigates effective disease management model and patient empowerment program for chronic illnesses.

樓博士為香港大學社會工作及社會行政學系副教授，研究興趣包括老年人的長期照顧、家屬照顧者的心理和靈性健康、社會支持、以及如何提升老年人健康的幹預研究等。樓博士近年的學術成果在國際領先的期刊上發表，例如Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences, The Gerontologist, Aging and Mental Health, and Social Indicators Research. 樓博士還積極參與服務專業協會，例如香港老年學會、美國老年學會、香港社會工作者協會、美國心理學會等。

Dr Ng is a registered physiotherapist. She is also the Visiting Professor at the Health and Nursing Department, The Wuhan Polytechnic University in China. Dr Ng’s research interest is on neurorehabilitation, particularly on stroke rehabilitation. Her research findings have been published in international journals such as Stroke, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine etc. She received research grants in conducting randomized controlled trials on efficacy of home-based and community-based stroke rehabilitation programmes and in developing innovative teaching methodology in physiotherapy education.
