Objective

Success in leading people is a significant function of staff motivation and performance management in today’s social service sector. Getting the right people on board and managing for team effectiveness can facilitate good performances and eliminate complicated challenges.     Mr Lam was a seasoned human resources management practitioner for over 30 years before his retirement in 2014. His extensive human resources management experience encompasses different industries including construction, real estate, telecommunication, trading and finance, and different cultural background. Mr Lam has been conducting management related training courses and as voluntary committee member for various NGOs since the early 90s. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management in which he served at various time as the Vice President, Member of the Executive Council, co-Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee and member of various committees. At present, he is a Honorary Assistant Professor teaching people management course at the Department of Social Work and Social Administration of the University of Hong Kong.

    Charles is responsible for steering and managing different Learning & Development initiatives in HK and other business hubs in order to facilitate cross-fertilization and build up staff competencies to accelerate the growth of MTR operations in HK, Macau and overseas.

    Prior to joining MTR, Charles held management positions in both corporate and HR consultancy companies. He graduated from HKU with an engineering degree, and acquired MBA in HKUST. Besides, Charles was awarded British Chevening Scholarship to study in London Business School and Cambridge University. He is also the certified trainer of “7 Habits” and “NLP”, and was awarded the “Distinguished Trainer” by HKMA and “Top 5 Emerging Training Leader” by US Training Magazine.

    Dr Michael Kwong holds degree from the University of Nottingham (U.K.) and Newport University (U.S.). He has worked in various leading media corporations including Asia Television, The Express News (Deputy Sales Director) and the New Evening Post (General Manager, Advertising Dept.) with over fifteen years’ successful experience in the sales and marketing field.

    Dr Kwong has been a business consultant and a part-time lecturer for a few institutions including HKMA, CUHK SCS, CityU SCOPE, PolyU (CBC, HKCC & SPEED), etc. He is especially strong to deliver training with topics in: win-win negotiation, supervisory skills, Leadership with Chinese Wisdom, EQ and AQ, customer service excellence, customer relationship management, professional selling skills, marketing strategy, creative thinking, team building and communication.

    Dr Kwong is a training consultant specializing in the area of Chinese Wisdom Leadership Skills, Media Skills, Selling and Negotiation Skills. He was also the co-author of "Relationship Marketing: the business strategy for e-commerce" (2000) and a contributing author of "The 21st Century Business Strategy" (2001) and "Strategies in Performance Management" (2006).

    With over forty years of service in the people management profession, Mr Lai is experienced in HR management strategy, reward management, performance management, employee engagement and succession planning. Prior to his current role, he was the Group HR Manager of CLP Holdings, Ltd., the parent company of China Light & Power Group, managing the Group's remuneration policies and practices, as well as its HR Information System. He is also a regular speaker and guest lecturer at local universities and professional bodies.

    Ms Lam has over 10 years’ experience in the social service sector. She specializes in NGO’s capacity building and cross-sectoral collaboration. She assisted the Council to establish the HKCSS Institute in 2007 with an aim to enhance management quality of the sector. Ms Lam has provided management consultancy on organization review and talent development for a number of organizations. She is also the project-in-charge of salary survey and competency modeling on leadership. She is a certified DISC behavioral consultant of the Institute for Motivational Living and certified practitioner of Workplace Big Five Profile of the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies (CentACS), USA, and Harrison AssessmentsTM. She holds an EMBA (HKUST), MSc in Social and Public Communication (LSE) and a GDip in Management Consulting (HKU).

    Bono is a certified DISC behavioural consultant of the Institute for Motivational Living and certified practitioner of Workplace Big Five Profile of the Center for Applied Cognitive Studies (CentACS), USA. And he has years of solid experience in applying NLP, Theatre of the Oppressed and the use of art for empowerment in social work.

He has been a licensed Trainer of a series of programs under an American consulting firm and accredited practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)® Step I & II, a certified administrator of DISC Behavioral Assessment and a certified coach of Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching.

    •   "Certificate in People Management for Non-HR Managers in NGOs” will be issued by the HKCSS Institute to participants who enrolled for the full certificate programme, including sessions 1, 3, 8 & 9, and have attended at least 80% out of the total hours of training enrolled, PLUS participated in case study sharing and discussion.
